Ken Shamrock, one of the first UFC Super fight Champions; will attend Battle of Orange County on December 13, 2008. The event, will be  hosted by ConvictedArtist.com, and will raise funds for Life Rolls On Foundation and the Surfriders Foundation.
Ken Shamrock will be a high light of this spectacular event, just as he's been in the world of UFC.  Shamrock's profession in the art of fighting began in 1988 when he trained as a professional wrestler. He debuted in 1990 in the Atlantic Pro Wrestling promotion and was nick named "Mr. Wrestling".
As for Shamrock's personal history, he was born in Macon, Georgia in February 11, 1964 under the name Kenneth Wayne Kilpatrickwith. He was abandoned as a child and spent his young years living in cars with out guardians.

He decided to change his name to Shamrock in respects to a man from Susanville, California he admired. That man was Bob Shamrock, owner of the Shamrock Ranch which housed trouble youths. Ken Shamrock understood the struggle most trouble teens experience in life and Bob Shamrock's qualities were some Ken Shamrock would embrace and use throughout his adult life.

That is likely the reason Ken Shamrock has participated in worthy charity events such as the December 13, 2008 Battle of Orange County that will raise money for young people with spinal cord injuries.

Another interesting fact about Ken Shamrock is his involvement with The Lion's Den, a mixed martial arts team and training camp from Reno, Nevada. Shamrock is the founder of the team that has featured fighters such as Jerry Bohlander, Vernon White, Mikey Burnett, Tra Telligman, Pete Williams and Guy Mezger. Many of these fighters will appear at the Battle of Orange County event as well.

Ken Shamrock, who is referred by MMA commentators as "The World's Most Dangerous Man", holds an impressive record of 26 wins (2 by knockout, 22 by submission) and 13 losses. Many of Ken Shamrock's fans and associates respect him for his humble and graceful persona. Shamrock demonstrated those qualities after losing against Tito Ortiz. After the fight, Ortiz started cussing at Shamrock, but instead of feeding into Ortiz's unprofessional remarks, Shamrock neutralized Ortiz's tacky behavior by responding to him diplomatically. Ortiz recognized his error and declared that fighting Ken Shamrock had made him a better fighter. Ken Shamrock has not only earned the up most respect in the world of UFC, but is now gaining the admiration of disabled youths in need.
