It takes a lot of talent to win 2 out of 3 votes from any legitimate music judge, but it takes a ton of authenticity to win the vote from all 3.

That’s exactly what Dymond aka Murder Mommy did recently during Battle of the Artists at the Shark Club in Costa Mesa California.

Dymond out rapped and out performed her way through several seasoned rap, hip hop and R&B contestants who battled for the crown.

Dymonds fierce confidence and natural ability to flow amazed everyone and inspired us into asking her for this interview. What an honor it is for us to have this great opportunity in introducing Dymond to our viewers.

Interview

By.S.A.

C.A.. What inspired you to get into music?

Dymond: Growing up I've always been a big fan of Music itself. My inspiration was being able to express who I am, my feelings, thoughts and most important my life using Poetry. Lyrics is a form of poetry and before I started actually writing song's I would just write poem's. Now, being able to actually infiltrate my poetry to a melody made me realize this is where my passion was, to create music.

C.A.: Your lyrics are very unique. Do you write your own music?

Dymond: Most definitely, that is very important to me because as an Artist you have to be yourself and everyone has there own mind and thoughts. I want people to love who I am and what I do. Creatively, It would be taking away from my music if I didn't.

C.A.: How did you get such a unique name for your band?

Dymond: Hahahaha that bring's back old memories! When I was about 16 years old I met a guy who was a Artist and producer his name was "Lil Goldie" he's from my hometown Long Beach in California. He had a small studio set up at his house and invited me to come and lay a track. He watched me write and then we recorded the song. After the record was completed I remember him playing it over quite a few times and he loved the song. So, before I left he told me, "You are something special and in my eyes you are a Diamond." So from that day forward I went by "Dymond" I just spelled it a little different hahaha.

C.A.: Which rap artists do you most admire?

Dymond: Definitey, LLcool j, Bone-thugz-n-Harmony, 2-pac,eminem,j ay-Z , missy elliot, Nas and Lil wayne. All of these artist to me create powerful records that are undeniably hot! Their songs have meaning and alot of people can listen and relate to them.

C.A.: What do you have planned for 2008?

Dymond: This is going to be a Big year for me. A time to showcase my musical talent on and off stage. I'm working on a project now, my first mixtape "Kruel Intentions" I plan on releasing that this summer. Currently, getting ready to shoot my first Video to a club hit I'm getting ready to push called "Psycho" so definitely be looking out for that. I'm also looking forward to getting in the studio and recording my First album after the release of "Psycho" so it's gonna get a little crazy, but I'm ready!

C.A.: We are looking forward to seeing you perform live again. When and where is your next gig?
