(Battle to Save Trestles)

Taking action to protect our world’s oceans, waves and beaches from urban development isn't an easy task. Especially when billions of dollars are at stake.
Well that isn’t discouraging the determined people of the Surfrider Foundation from doing everything they can to raise awareness and prevent the Orange County Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) from building another one of their lucrative polluted toll roads.
TCA have planned for years to plaster asphalt road across stunning Trestles, which is located at the mouth of San Mateo Creek, just south of the City of San Clemente, CA.
Orange County is developing fast and bull dozing up what’s left of southern California's natural environment.
The undamaged mountain land and waters of San Mateo Creek is now on their hit list.
Why should we save Trestles you may ask?

Well thousands of people visit Trestles to escape the madness of southern California’s freeways, roads and smog, but if the TCA gets its way Trestles will indisputably become another Manhattan Island of California.

The taking of Public State Park land for private-interests paves way for the eventual slaughter of all State Park land as developers lick their Lobbying chops at the gluttonous idea.

The Federal government is set to rule regarding the appeal of the California Coastal Commission verdict between Oct 24, 2008 and - Jan 7, 2009.

Our involvement with the Surfriders Foundation’s fight to save Trestles came after we visited the naturally perfect coastal watershed to photograph talented surfers. When we learned about the toll road proposition we were stunned.

Destroying Trestles is such a crime so we decided to help raise funds and awareness to help the Surfriders Foundation through their battle.

Long Live Trestles so that all photographers, surfers and tourists continue enjoying one of southern California’s most striking beaches!
