Mick Fanning is the current Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour Champion.

Fanning learned to surf at an early age in the coastal town of New South Wales. By the age of 12 Fanning was surfing with professional surfer Joel Parkinson. In 1997 Fanning established himself as on of the best surfers in Queensland point by placing in the top three at the Australian National Titles.

2007 marked Fanning’s sixth year on the Foster’s Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World tour and his ninth year on the ASP WQS since 1998. On November 6, 2007 he won the Santa Catarina Pro in Brazil clinching the 2007 ASP world title placing him above Taj Burrow and Kelly Slater.

In 2008 Fanning won yet another victory beating 8-time world champion Kelly Slater at the Fosters ASP World Tour.
